Bingo: Bingo Bucks add up
Three Edmontonians and one out-of-towner split this week's $10,000 Sun Bingo cash prize.
As her co-winners arrived at the Edmonton Sun offices to claim their $2,500 cheques, Janice Meakin, 50, was working away up in Fort McMurray.
Celebrating the win will have to wait until she gets some time off, said Meakin, a longtime Bingo player.
Ken Derpack, 64, brought three of his four grandchildren with him to claim his prize, a windfall he said will come in handy with two more grandkids on the way.Derpack said he's been playing Sun Bingo since Day 1, and couldn't believe his luck when he finally netted a win.
"I had to check the numbers about four times over," he said.
Art Briere, 61, and Brian Stevenson, 30, were this week's other bingo winners.
