Bingo! We're winners ...
THERE aren't many news stories these days that make the world seem a better place.
But I couldn't help but smile as I read the news about how Soraya Lowell had split her world record bingo win with her pensioner neighbour, Agnes O'Neill.
The two have been neighbours for 20 years and have been going to a Glasgow bingo hall together since it opened 18 months ago. They had vowed to split any winnings they ever had, probably never imagining that one of them would scoop a £1.2million jackpot.
Some might have tried to wriggle out of the informal agreement but not Soraya. She immediately signed over half of her winnings saying she would never go back on her word.I'm sure we all believe that, given a similar situation, we would be as true to our word - wouldn't we?
